The beetles in Idaho are widespread throughout the state, with the northern part having a significant distribution. Two of the biggest beetles found in north Idaho are the ten-lined June beetle found in roses, strawberries, and potatoes and the white-spotted sawyer beetle posing a threat to pine, spruce, and fir trees. Another harmful pest reportedly spotted in at least two counties of Idaho is the Japanese beetle causing damage to crops and gardens. The bark beetle species like the western pine, pine engraver, and fir engraver have also been deemed a menace to the northern Idaho forests.
